In the rebuilding of our starlore for these modern times we see ‘Crom’ as the Irish version of the widely recognised ‘flying sea serpent’ that is found in mythology. Crom is not one of the zodiac constellations and does not follow the path of the Sun and planets but instead it is underneath Libra, Virgo, Leo and Cancer. Crom is the longest of all star groups whose name means ‘curved’. The deity of Earrach / Spring is ‘Crom’ a fertility god that was inherited by and predates the Tuatha Dé Danann.

The ‘Event’ is at 00:33 looking due South. The Prominent Stars - Corona Borealis aka northern crown. Arcturus: Greek means "Guardian of the Bear’, Regulus: Babylonian means ‘star of the Lion's breast’, Procyon: Greek means ‘before the dog’ and Alphard: Arabic means ‘the solitary one in the serpent’, Beta and Xi Hydrae - Birth Organ.
The alignment of Beta and Xi Hydrae as the birth organ touching the horizon while due south at true midnight gives us the timing for Earrach. Beta and Xi Hydrae can be seen as the area of the ‘birth organ’ of the flying water serpent blessing the land when viewed from Ireland. In Ireland this flying sea serpent is called Crom, but it is also known in Hebrew as the Levithan, the Aztecs ‘Quetzalcoatl’, the Mayas ‘Kukulkan’ and in Greek as the many headed Hydra. In the Chinese tradition Crom is ‘Ling / Lung’ their flying sea serpent who is always chasing the Pearl (Procyon). Crom’s blessing causes growth from spring until autumn.
