We will give referrals and pass on requests from seekers in your greater area to you.
Your next steps...
1) To get to know us - 'who we are and what we say and what we do' – you can join us at any Full Moon ceremony and you can then become a subscribed member.
2) If you were forced into membership of the Catholic church before you could talk or walk - you will sign a letter of ‘Excommunicate Me, I am a Celtic Pagan’ and keep this original contract yourself. If you were made a member of any other church or religion you will write to them politely asking to be de-listed.
3) You need to inform us by email at [email protected] of your desire to train and become an /i\ Ard Druí with the Celtic Druid Temple. Please post a one page CV and a copy of your letter declaring your choice of Path (see 2 above) to the Celtic Druid Temple, Candlefield, Trien, Castlerea, Co Roscommon, F45 HK53 Ireland.
3) Speak the Celtic Pagan Oath out loud at a Full Moon ceremony on Tara and at Temple Crom in the company of an /i\ Ard Druí.
Terms and Conditions
Everyone regardless of profession or past history may become a Celtic Pagan member and become a Druí Dalta (student druid). However, acceptance and formal training to become an /i\ Ard Druí involves trust and only those persons whose conduct, character and behavior which does not potentially discredit either themselves, the Celtic Druid Temple or Ireland's Druidschool may seek this special /i\ Ard Druí ‘Celebrant and Solemniser’ training.
Exclusions from this training
The following list is not definitive and may be extended, if you are unsure if your current choice of profession may exclude you - please inquire. The following choice of professions limits potential progress beyond Druí Dalta for many and will automatically disqualify certain applicants from consideration:
If you are currently employed in or as -
Politician; county councillor, elected member of government.
Legal; judge, solicitor and barrister.
Army, prison, navy and air force and associated supply industries.
Pharmaceutical doctors, chemists and anyone involved in their manufacture or sale of drugs.
Chemical production and or use of pesticide, herbicides and fertilizers.
Water treatment by fluoridation, chlorination or any chemical treatment of water.
Civil servants above clerical officer etc.- Office of the Revenue Commissioners, Office of Public Works, Comptroller and Auditor-General, Courts Service of Ireland, Director of Public Prosecutions, Garda Síochána, Garda Síochána Complaints Board, Legal Aid Board, Houses of the Oireachtas, Irish Naturalisation & Immigration Service, Information Commissioner and Ombudsman.
Persons with history of violent crime, white supremacists, homophobes, misandrists, misogynists and narcissists.
Persons under a Geis by the Celtic Druid Temple.
Exclusions from training to become an Ard Druí in our tradition relates to current employment in certain professions. Some professions are oath bound for life, others contract bound for life, some are restricted by 'state secrets acts' and so on and unless these oaths etc are proved invalid - they stand and may preclude advanced training with us even if there has been a 'job' change. So, even though people may leave a 'profession with legal ties' the exact nature of those ties and their restrictions to future actions / practices etc may prevent advanced training with us. Each applicant needs clarity on this and so do we.
Investment and Returns
More information on offering service as an /i\ Ard Druí is available on request only to people that we actually know. The fees are reasonable with a deposit and staged payments. The returns depend on the extent of your service to the community from which you make a small donation to the Celtic Druid Temple. To undertake this course you must be at least 30 years old and of sound mind.
Notes
* we would prefer the term spiritual to religion but the Irish state does not recognise spiritual yet.
** as the Private Ceremonies shown listed in this section under 6 (a)*, (b)* and (e)* are less frequent than 7 (c); they may be completed later as the opportunity arises.
