OgamNua Course
This specialised OgamNua Course is based on the book “Your Celtic Path, a seekers guide” and teaches students how to read and write in OgamNua. On completion of this course you will be able to transliterate from OgamNua into English and from English into OgamNua. Transliteration is changing an OgamNua symbol into an English letter and vise versa. Translation is changing an OgamNua word into an English word and vise versa. Quick and easy translation comes only after practice with the slower Transliteration. In essence your mind will be trained to recognise ‘words’ only after it recognises the symbols or letters. As a side benefit - your handwriting will improve too.
Course Contents (1 and 2 are in the CDT library)
1. English Chapters of the book itself with graphics
2. Photocopies of the facsimile of the Ogham section of the Book of Ballymote
3. Chose basic, higher or sacred vowels to emphasise values such as in your name
4. Structuring English sentences to ‘work’ in OgamNua - DOS AND DON'TS
5. ‘Post its’ on furniture, doors, kitchen, items on display (get kids involved)
6. Translation of 6 TriadNua into English.
7. Write 50 words about yourself in English and translate this into OgamNua.
Each step will be emailed to you. You will write a short report on each step. Your teacher will comment and advise on improvements, answer questions and give guidance on the course work throughout.
