What to expect when booking a Celtic Wedding Pagan Handfasting

Fees

  • Our standard fee starts at €450 for a weekday wedding at Temple Crom here in Castlerea, north Co Roscommon*
  • A Saturday or Sunday wedding at Temple Crom starts at €550
  • The standard fee for a weekday wedding at your venue starts at €650

We are honored to help you celebrate your relationship, and are happy to work with you to build a ceremony to reflect you as individuals and as a couple. This page outlines the logistics of what's involved with booking your ceremony with us. We hope it answers all your questions, please check the FAQ for other common questions.

Service


1. The couple make a request  for a handfasting detailing proposed date(s), time and place, and declaring that both parties are over 18 years of age by contacting us here or by using the contact form at the end of this page

2. We reply confirming our availability or otherwise.

3. With agreement for a date, time and place we start to find out more about you and your ideas. A phone consultation can be arranged.

4. We prepare a basic outline plan and email this to the couple.

4. When the couple and Facilitating Ard Druí are happy with the proposed plan, the couple can secure their preferred date by making a booking with a full payment in advance. Deposits may be agreed, deposits are non refundable.

5. The Facilitating Ard Druí begins working on the ceremony script and a 1st draft is emailed to the couple. The couple then modify the ceremony and email it back for consideration and further modifications if needed. We encourage questions, clarifications and or requests for more information by email from the couple.

6. The Facilitating Ard Druí meets the couple for final modifications and rehearsal, usually less than two hours. This is available here at The Temple, in the afternoon, midweek with prior arrangement.

7. If the ceremony is taking place at your venue The Facilitating Ard Druí will arrive on the day of your wedding at the agreed time. They will liaise with your music and photography team. After the ceremony the facilitating Ard Druí is happy to stay for the first set of photograchs ad toast if required.

The above fees are payable directly to the individual Ard Druí.
If you would like the ceremony solemnised we ask that you donate €100 to Celtic Druid Temple.

Note: The standard procedure detailed above is included in the fee for all the Handfasting options available.
If the couple wants to meet with the Druí and/or see venue before booking we are happy to facilitate this on Full Moons and on the Eightfolds of the Solar Year at no extra cost. Details of all these open and free ceremonies are available here other wise the couple may make an appointment with the facilitating Druí at The Temple for a face to face meeting and viewing of The Temple with an extra payment of €100.

 Venue Choices


Temple Crom hosted it's first Handfasting in 2013. It is a dedicated ceremonial space for Druid ceremonies. Constructed with locally sourced timber it is perfect for celebrating your wedding in the style of our Celtic ancestors. Close to the earth and natural Temple Crom can accommodate up to 35 guests sitting in circle around you. We can also help you source accommodation, meals and transport locally.

Alternatively we can travel to your venue. If you would like your ceremony outdoors we highly recommend booking an indoor standby. There's nothing like warm and dry guests to help you celebrate your wedding!
