Friendship, exercise and a visit to the Temple

Friendship, exercise and a visit to the Temple are some of the things that happen on a volunteer day here. There's a task set out for the day and we approach it under the guiding principal of Tóg é go bog é....take it easy. Yes,it's a physical task, however in the space of working side by side breathing fresh air, magic can happen......our connection to the Land around us deepens, and when this is a shared experience our sense of connection with Nature is amplified.

You are also helping us out at the Temple with some of the simple and practical things that we really struggle to get done. This not only helps us achieve more in the day but it also enhances the future experience of visitors and seekers to the Temple.

We're meeting up here at Celtic Druid Temple this Saturday the 29th from 11am - 4pm. Lunch is provided. Email
here to let us know you'll be arriving. If you can't make it this Saturday but would like to join us on another Saturday email us and we'll add your address to our volunteer email contacts.

Grá agus Solas.

The mystery of Dagda's Return to the Realm of Land

Dagda is the good god of Ireland's Tuatha de Dannan. For a long time now He has lived only in high stories around Celtic Camp fires but with guidance our Druí Daltaí will discover that He has started on His long awaited return journey to the Realm of Land. Dagda is our Ollathair meaning 'All-Father', He is a chieftain and a druid. He is bringing his cauldron 'Undry' which gives sustainable food and reincarnates warriors. He will carry 'Uaithne' a three string 4 corner living oak harp that plays the music of sorrow, of joy and of dreaming. He also brings his war club that can give or take life. Dagda has two marvellous swine - one always roasting, the other always growing - and ever-laden fruit trees.
We look at three times: past, present and future and we can see the first emergence of Dagda into view from Ourland about 6000 years ago. We will see how two thousand years ago He was called by other names – Cuchullain and Fionn McCumhaill. On our upcoming Slí an Druí Celtic Spirituality Weekend our Druí Daltaí learn where they can see and connect to Dagda, Undry, Uaithne, the war club and the abundance of the re-incarnating boar and ever-laden fruit trees...

The mystery of how Celtic Druids fill their Three Cauldrons.

In the world of the Celtic Druid there are Three Realms outside us and Three Cauldrons inside us. This reflects “as above so below” but there is a challenge for each seeker on a Celtic Path! While the Three Realms have their constant exchange and interaction the Three Cauldrons have to be arranged to be upright and full. These inner cauldrons are called 'An Coire Goriath' (Cauldron of Warming - belly), 'An Coire Ernmae' (Cauldron of Vocation - chest) and 'An Coire Sois' (Cauldron of Wisdom - head).

Usually, only the Cauldron of Warming is the right way up at birth, otherwise we could not sustain our life. The goal of the Druí Dalta (student druid) is to understand how to cleanse their three cauldrons, to fill them and to sustain all three in an upright position. This then allows the cauldrons to be filled and overflow and as each Druí becomes a better channel for Imbass we develop our connection to the Primordial Tradition.

On our upcoming Slí an Druí Celtic Spirituality Weekend our Druí Daltaí learn how to cleanse and fill all Three Cauldrons and how to cause them to overflow – then with dedication, practice and unrelenting focus each seeker becomes a stronger and stronger channel for the flow of Imbass.

Experience the mystery of the Three Realms

The Three Realms are the Sky, the Sea and the Land. Two examples from the Táin Bó Cúailnge will help - When Sualtaim (Cuchulains father) was told about his son fighting against the odds he called out: "This is from afar. Is it the sky that cracks or the sea that ebbs or the earth that splits or is it the distress of my son against the Foray of Cuailgne".
When Sualtaim spoke to King Conor - the king replied "A little too loud is that cry, for the sky is above us, the earth beneath us, and the sea all around us, but unless the sky with its showers of stars fall upon the surface of the earth or unless the ground burst open in an earthquake, or unless the fish abounding blue bordered sea come over the surface of the earth, I shall..."

From this we see that our ancestors saw that the Three Realms make their world.

Each day our spiritual practice as Celtic Druí tunes us into the Three Realms as we align with the Way of our Ancestors. In the video you can see me doing my Triple Blessings which connect me to the Three Realms - this is a foundation practice that helps each Druí Daltaí (student druid) to tune in more deeply than would be imagined at first.
We practice this Triple Blessing every day on our upcoming Slí an Druí Celtic Spirituality Weekend
