Meitheal And Mead Indigenous Solutions

During March 2020, we had planned to extend our opening times and facilities to the local community, we had planned a series of articles in the newspaper encouraging people to visit and explore the concept of community woodlands with us. So much of this plan relied on physical human interaction, but this element of course had to be postponed.

But then a Sleeping Giant woke up and gave us a gift!

Picture

Some of you might be aware of a project in Leitrim initiated by a lady called Lyn Brookes, she set up a go fund me called Sleeping Giant with the aim of buying land in Leitrim and planting a community woodland. The project couldn't go ahead and in January Lyn let everyone know that she was closing the go fund me and that donators could have a refund or their donations would be passed on to our Candlefield Community Woodland. Last week The Sleeping Giant project transferred €2,958 to Celtic Druid Temple. Thank you Sleeping Giant! Previous to this one of our wonderful members took up the call (pre lockdown) and collected over 2000 trees from a cancelled planting project and delivered them to the woodland here, he would have stayed to plant them as well only the lock down measures were announced. Thank you Dave!

We decided to share a large portion of the 2000 trees with our neighbours and realised that the community woodland truly has spread its roots. This month we have also received a number of new membership subscriptions and some very welcome donations from long standing members and contributors. Thank you all so much!

These gestures have raised our spirits and given us renewed energy. At a time when big industry supported by the State is treating trees as another resource to extract profit from, the actions of Sleeping Giant and our members are essential to restoring our relationship with the trees and the woodlands. Its very difficult to do this without financial inputs and since 2005 we have given all our own personal financial resources into this project. It can be very difficult to ask other people for donations but when we do we are met with such heart warming support and enthusiasm. To receive such unexpected support at this time is wonderful!

Our Temple now sits within a changed landscape with increased birdsong and animal visitors. The young trees we planted in 2005 are now firmly established and the hedgerows we preserved are buzzing with life. We are now focusing on establishing and maintaining paths for our human visitors, creating safe places to stop, rest and breath in the knowledge and realisation that we are part of this growing woodland. This is Meitheal in action, together we can create community resilience and sufficiency. The Woodlands of Ireland are the fertility, health and wealth of this Land and the Spirit of the Celtic Gael is reawakening. We are co creating abundance together as people. Living with this abundance teaches us that we are part of the solution, the solution that brings fertility to the Land and its People.

I, Niamh, am personally celebrating by putting as much of my physical energy into co creation with our gardens and woodland as I can. Con is celebrating by re engineering and designing a complete set of Gaelic shoes and boots that have been found in archaeological contexts throughout Ireland. We have of course put 10 litres of mead on and it will be ready in time for our Lughnasa celebrations......Meitheal and Mead – community effort and community celebration of fertility and abundance. If you can we encourage you to put on some mead and plan a celebratory visit to us in the future!

The Problem with WATER Types of Water and Beginnings of a Solution

18/1/2018

Picture
Science has caused our problem with water. Science, this is - combined with exploitation and greed and lack of concern regarding environmental impact. This is the root cause of the problem. The science that has been used over the last 100 years has caused the damage to our water, air, and earth on the scale of global metabolic disorder that has almost put our planet into toxic shock. This is the result of left-brain scientific analysis and formulae. It kind of started when Baron Von Liebig reduced a living tree to ashes in the late 1800's. He separated the ashes into their different chemical groups and stated that this is what makes a tree. Taking the water and life force out of the tree first and then analysing the ash did this. He was wrong to say the ash is the tree, when the water and life force were what made the tree live. But, like many wonderful scientific discoveries of our left-brained quantifying scientists, the important qualities were left out. It was not because the scientist did not feel that there was "something else", it was because they could not find a way to catch it and cut it up in their laboratories.

This "something else" has many names - Prana, chi, OD, odic force, bions, astral fluid, aether, grace, orgone and re and Imbas in the old Irish. Einstein, in his first paper when he was only sixteen, wrote about and titled his submission - Electricity, Magnetism and the Ether. Today, we refer to this "something else" as LIGHT. Science has reduced water to a formula (just as the Baron did to the tree) and today we casually refer to water as H2O. This is a mistake, because to arrive at the H2O stage the scientist must remove everything else first. To do this, the scientist will create a quantity of steam, which s/he will then condense into a sterile liquid. This is then reported as H2O, a compound of two hydrogen molecules and single oxygen molecule. Modern civilisation accepts this without much attention being paid to what is implied by the methodology or the consequence of the application. Schoolbooks show pictures of water consisting of two hydrogen and one oxygen as 2D graphic.

This implies that the two H's are stuck to the Oxygen permanently, when in fact they make and break connection with the oxygen thousands of times per second. Never mind that, the books are only talking about dead water from a laboratory and not water in its natural state. This happens because the scientists have agreed that if you are going to be scientific then your experiments must be repeatable by others. So they all kill the water and then analyze the corpse. They will always get the same answer- H2O. Nature provides humanity with water, the scientists however, provide us with a multitude of ways to damage and pollute that water. Their technology is based on wrong principles. They were not aware of water as a living energy.

On Star Trek, humans are referred to as carbon based life forms, this is another fallacy, because we are not mostly carbons, we are mostly water. Your body (if you are well hydrated) is over 70% water, some sources say the brain is over 90% water. Quality becomes paramount when you understand this. Recent humour suggests that water created humans as a unique way of getting about on this planet that is covered by over 70% water.

Types of Water
Within the abundance of Nature there are many types of water. This must be so, because water is a dynamic energy and likes to move. Most importantly, it likes to move in a centripetal laminar vortexian motion. This is because of this type of motion enhances or supports the energy within the water. Centripetal means winding in towards the center, laminar means in layers, vortexian means the shape of the bath water going down the plug hole, motion means movement. Combined, this encourages the Light to enter the water and this raises the vibration or character of that water. Today's technology is centrifugal; opposite to centripetal in that here (centrifugal) the energy is spun to the edge. This lowers the energy within the water. Centrifugal pumping and straight pipe distribution systems combine to lower the energy in any water creating prime conditions for E Coli to multiply. More bad science, do not forgive them for they know what they do. Centrifugal may also be understood as Explosive and Centripetal as Implosive.

Mature Water (Available only from Nature)
This type of water has completed a full hydro-logical cycle and appears out of the earth for us to drink and wash in. Having percolated 10,000 ft deep into the earth and on its way being cleansed of negative imprinting by the various layers of quartz / sand / gravel / limestone etc., the filtered water is then super heated at the mantle. This encourages ascension. When ascending, the water is then imprinted with a wide range of Vibrational information from the layers of quartz / sand / gravel / limestone etc., that it may pass. Variety here creates a range of characteristics and different healing specialties as in our ancient wells. This water is 4 degrees, smooth and soft tasting.

Immature Water
When someone says, "I have a deep well" you are informed that the source is the water table maybe 500 ft deep. This water, if left alone would percolate and eventually become Mature, but because it is harvested at the early stages of development it is only a poor second option to top quality. The water table is highly contaminated with (man made) pharmaceuticals, industrial and agricultural chemicals and organic pathogens. This water will have various temperatures above 4 degrees and the taste will vary from tangy to bland to offensive. As a Diviner, I often refer to groundwater or immature water as the 'Nitrate Sump' because of our farming practice of water-soluble chemicals - nasty nitrates.

Sterile Water / Rain
When it begins to rain the first ten minutes after a dry spell cleans the air of airborne pollutants. It is toxic and should not be consumed. Rain is supposed to clean the air, sterile water is hungry for information and in this stage of its cycle it absorbs the dirt. After the first ten minutes of rain we have a clean basic ingredient for water. The rain easily moves the atmospheric toxins and percolation quickly absorbs them allowing the full hydrological cycle a chance to re energise and fill the water with Light. Humans should not consume Sterile or rainwater because it will absorb your Light. There are certain medical exceptions to this. This water will have various temperatures above 4 degrees, it can even be warm and the taste will vary.

Rivers and Lakes
Rivers are mostly heavily polluted except very near to source. Lakes are still and exposed to the sun and loose energy easily. Avoid both. This shows that high quality water is available only at a specific stage in its full hydrological cycle. This stage of the cycle is found at the holy wells of our ancestors.

Each well was respected and had a name and its particular characteristic for healing was often in that name. Nature provides a huge complex machine to produce high quality water for us, but mankind has lost respect for Nature. More correctly, science fears the powers of Nature because it does not understand Light. Then it ignores the Light. Science thinks it is better than Nature, and so we have people with formulas. More bad science. Because Nature has devised a system that puts Light into water, we should obey the dictate from Schauberger- "Comprehend and copy Nature". This is what the Centre for Implosion Research (http://www.implosionresearch.com) has done; they have found a simple way to add Light back to tap water. This is the only way forward at the moment, to add Light to whatever water you can get. The dead science formula for water as H2O is wrong. The Living science formula for water is - you sweat one pint, breathe two pints and urinate three pints daily (based on a six ft / 12 stone man). If that water contains a man made formula then you support the idea of science i.e. man knows more than Nature does. If that water contains Light then your body will assume full health. We are Light Beings. The Light in the water will detoxify the body and raise consciousness. "Comprehend and copy Nature" - not just intellectually but practically and daily and you may actually enjoy your incarnational potential on this wonderful planet.

HEALTH WARNING ON ENERGY AND WATERCHEMICAL PROBLEMS IN TAP WATER
Aluminium causes - premature ageing, Alzheimer's
Nitrates causes - nausea, cancers
Herbicides / Pesticides causes - birth defects, cancers
Arsenic causes - illnesses, birth defects, death
Chlorine causes - allergic reactions, heart disease
affects - metabolism of fat, hormonal activity
inhibits - certain enzymes, recovery
kills - good intestinal bacteria
Fluoride causes - heart disease, genetic damage, dental problems, brittle bones
affects - immune system, mental ability, kidneys, heart, thyroid gland, eyes, skin, brain function
inhibits - function of white blood cells, wide range of body enzymes, natural DNA repair system.

FLOURIDE IS THE SECOND WORST TOXIN PRESENT IN THE EARTHS CRUST, SECOND ONLY TO ARSENIC. IRELAND HAS BEEN UNDER MASS MEDICATION WITH FLOURIDE WITHOUT ANYBODIES PERMISSION SINCE THE 1960s, See http://www.flouridefree.com

CHLORINE IS ADDED TO OUR WATER SUPPLIES TO KILL E.COLI, BUT THIS CREATES THMs WHICH ARE MORE DANGEROUS TO US.

THM's =TRIHALOMETHANES CAUSE CANCER.

Beginnings of a Solution

TAP WATER FILTRATION
Jug Filters
Cheap, convenient and good first step to cleaning your water. You should change the filter regularly as bacteria will build up and the filter will become ineffective and eventually become dangerous.
Carbon Filters
Simple, but do not treat bacteria or viruses. Removes impurities, smells and tastes and man made chemicals by filtration and absorption. Solid block carbon filters are more effective than the granulated activated carbon filters.

Distillation
Boils the water, condenses the steam and leaves the unwanted substances behind. Distilled water is only valid as a short-term therapeutic detoxifying measure. Long term use leeches energy and nutrients from your body.

Ceramic Filters
Allows water through but traps bacteria. Some have an ion exchange mechanism that traps some metals and also helps to soften hard water. Good for bacterial problems.

Reverse Osmosis Filters
The most effective filters. Can remove almost all contaminants; lead, mercury, arsenic, nitrates, herbicides, pesticides, and can reject bacteria and viruses. Israeli soldiers use portable models.

ENERGISING FILTERED TAP WATER
When tap water is filtered you have neutral water. Now you must bring the life force back into the neutral or sleeping water. Using the combined forces of the vortex and resonance does this. Water Energisers from the Centre for Implosion Research will add the Light (life force or Prana or chi) back into water. The taste and feel will change when Light is added to water and there are three tests given below to double check this for yourself.
Tasting.
Fix the after taste in your mind after drinking raw filtered tap water, energise the same water and fix the after taste in your mind again and compare.
Flowers.
Use cut flowers and two vases' use raw filtered tap water and energised filtered tap water. Keep 7 ft apart, watch over a week.
Animals.
Use two bowls, raw filtered tap water and energised filtered tap water. Keep 7 ft apart; let the cat or dog have access to both bowls at the same time. Watch your pet go for the Light.

The Land of Rock Giants and Tiny Trees at the Burren

8/5/2017

This place is simply amazing. The feel of this rocky plateau is so different to anything I've experienced. On a drive along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way heading for Lahinch I spotted a little pathway heading up some cliffs and noted it for the return journey. It's Burren country.
Picture
Picture
On the way back we stopped at the little spot and I climbed up the path whilst Con explored the cliff line, just North of the Cliffs of Moher.
There's no amount of adjectives sufficient to describe what I felt. I was in a completely foreign (to me) landscape- I felt unprepared for it and  decided not to venture too far. The rocks are huge rising into giant boulders or spreading flat across crevices. sure footing and a knowledge of place is essential.
Inside these crevices trees were growing along with tiny beautiful wildflowers.
Picture
Picture
Picture
I stopped to perform the Triple Blessings, energetically I could sense that I had actually stopped on a busy rock where many people had been before-probably like me deciding not to venture any further! The sense of place insisted on slowing down and devoting time to getting to know it.
Picture
After finishing my meditation with love and gratitude, I slowly picked my path back down and headed for the cliffs. Wow, I'll let the pictures talk for themselves.
Picture
I love heights, so I found a safe place to lie down and stick my head over the edge! Raw footage below from my little camera accompanied by wind and wave noises. I was transfixed watching the waves spiraling over the rocks below....enjoying that moment, that edge that makes me feel extra alive!

Family Open Days

1/3/2016

An open day at the Temple is a time for just having a look and maybe asking a few questions, it's a chance to chill out with us for a couple of hours.
Picture
We start in the car park, sitting by the newly planted mallow beds and wait for every one to arrive. Once everyone has their coats and boots on we start the guided tour. On our tour we visit the Power House........that's what the post man calls it...........it's where our turbine and solar panels feed into a bank of batteries and supply the house and sheds with electricity.
Picture
Picture
After the Power House, we move on to the Fort, this is a large enclosure which during the Summer months hosts our Medieval Camp, we'll tell you all about it on the day!
Picture
Through the west gate into our developing Blackthorn i.e. Sloe Orchard, a quick stop to admire our mini Quartz Dolmen, then on to the first of many Nature Corridors. When we first moved here the farm had been left idle for many years, the hedges had started to move in on the fields, which had been used for grazing cattle, since we're not cattle farmers we thought we'd help Nature along by increasing the width of the hedgerows. Can you hear the birds?
Picture
Picture
On to the Native forest, approx 9,000 Native trees were planted in Jan 2014. Here you'll see lots of young trees with maybe some quartz egg rocks at their base, this where the local school have visited and each child picked a stone and placed it at a tree, they come back every year to check on it's growth.
Picture
Picture
After checking out the Trees we make our way along the tree line and up past the willow circle, it's one of many willow experiments around the farm, when we go to the Reed Bed system you'll see the Willow Fedge.....the Reed Beds are where all our waste water from the sinks, showers and toilets go.....it's actually quite pretty, with yellow flag iris, reeds and ten foot tall willow growing in the ponds.........anyway back to the willow circle......who knows what it might be when you arrive.... a cave, a dome......
Picture
Picture
We finish the tour in the Round House. This is our Temple, built by volunteer labour and materials. It seats about thirty and currently has one little wren nesting in the last years swallows nest.

In the Round House we'll give you a brief introduction to Celtic Spirituality and how we live our every day lives Spiritually focused. We'll also tell you a bit about the different ceremonies that we facilitate both in the Temple and all around the country.

Hopefully you'll have enjoyed the talk, the walk in Nature, the relaxed space that we hold and you never know you might just visit us again. See you soon......

Open Days:  Sat 7th May, Sat 9th July and Sat 1st Oct. These days are free and open to all, membership is not required. Open at 3pm, guided tour at 3.30pm--- all welcome (no pets please.....this is in respect for the animals already living here)

Email us to book your place.

Sat 13 Feb 2016 10am to 4pm

We are stewards of 16.5 acres in North West Roscommon. The lands and buildings are being developed to permaculture designs and the 10,000 native woodland trees are the core of a Forest Garden. We do not use chemical sprays and rely instead on manual weed suppressing. We are in a remote and peaceful location. The air is clean and sweet. We live in harmony with nature and seek to comprehend and cooperate with the land and all around us. We are heading towards sustainability, self sufficiency, off grid living as we practice the principals of the Celtic Druid Tradition
Picture

We need your help.

The 'no chemical' method means we simply hold the top of the tree and fold weeds away from the young trees by the careful use of the boot, giving breathing space for the young tree spirit to grow. It's quite a relaxing and enjoyable process, you develop a rhythm working your way through the young forest spiraling around the trees as you help to give them the space they need to grow. If you can't join us but still want to help us with this project you can use the donate button at the end of this blog to help in a different and much need way. Your donations will buy stakes for trees, protective gloves for volunteers and other items that make the job safer and easier for all (including the trees :)

Volunteering with us is open to all subscribed members Membership Subscription here. We provide our Volunteers with the best local organic food and holy water and provide accommodation in our 4 bed dormitory for each night and in our medieval tent village during the warm season. If you join us just for one day, start at 10am and end around 4pm we will give you a full midday meal - there is no contribution required.

Picture
However, if you prefer to stay over night and then lend a hand on the tree farm we will give you a bed, b/fast, lunch and dinner and a contribution of E10 per person per day is appreciated. No one will be asked to do any work that they are not able for or uncomfortable with - you are expected to enjoy working at the Temple! More FAQ on volunteering with us here

Connecting with Nature and Restoring Culture

Picture
Peace and tranquility in the wilds of North Roscommon
When people come to stay with us, they generally fall in to two categories of reactions. The first, and of course my favourite is when they are completely amazed at our lifestyle and become inspired to take on their own projects at home. The other, not so favourite reaction is one of complete and utter astonishment that we don't fit some pre-imagined picture or set of expectations usually along the lines of where's the castle or why don't you do this or that. These reactions are sometimes a little difficult to manage, and sometimes you just have to call it....you're projecting your idea of Druid on to us, this is who we are....take it or leave it.......

Anyway........within these two main reactions both generally agree that our home is very peaceful with an air of tranquility and deep calm. We work hard at making sure that this peace is always with us, and of course we as the humans in the equation don't always get it right, thankfully it's not just us, there's the rocks that the house is made from dotted with sparkling quartz, the living water circulating in our underfloor heating system, the hemp supplied by friends on the walls allowing the house to breath and the sheep's wool in the attic, our woolly hat in winter. We don't have many electrical appliances whizzing or buzzing constantly and at night time the silence grows much deeper. I've found that some people relax into this space immediately whilst others who live in cities, take awhile to tune in.

Picture
Hollyhocks (Alcea rosea) and a visitor
We have a deep respect for Nature, this means that we are conscious of our connection to Nature. At every moment with every breath we are interacting and connecting with Nature. If you look at a dictionary definition of Nature, you'll find something along the lines of "the physical world and everything in it (such as plants, animals, mountains, oceans, stars, etc.) that is not made by people" Fair enough, but the definition and mindset doesn't really allow for the full concept... that people are part of Nature, we are not above Nature, below Nature, in control of Nature or separate from Nature. Even when we're inside an apartment block on the 17th floor of a sprawling city- we are still with Nature, this is who we are. It's the over analyzing, categorizing, specializing and all the other iizings that encourage us to believe that we are separate from Nature, that it is something we must care for.....it is, but come at it from the view point that we are Nature, how does that change your understanding?

We can communicate with other parts of Nature quite easily. We share the same space, we share nutrients, water, minerals, we depend on each other and we communicate on such basic levels that it's way too simple for our categorized, segmented brains and egos to allow! I have often found plants by smell alone. Hidden in the long grass or thorny hedge the most delicate of flowers can call out to pollinators, and what a joy it is to locate these plants through their aromatic touch. If you're just saying hello, you don't need to know it's latin name and all it's properties, all you have to do is appreciate it and know that it has just spoken to you in it's language! When I forage for berries in the hedges my intuition tells me only to pick berries in the height  or space from my knees to my shoulders.....to leave berries for the birds and smaller creatures. Most people who spend a lot of time outdoors with plants and trees have little rituals or understandings particular to them and their immediate environment, when Ard Druí Red John and his family visit the fairy tree on Tara, they respectfully check in from a distance to feel if the tree is open for a visit.....respect.

PictureAmanita muscaria in the neighboring fields
Culture, can be defined as shared patterns of behaviors and interactions, cognitive constructs and understanding that are learned by socialization. It can be seen as the growth of a group identity fostered by social patterns unique to the group.

Apparently the the word "culture" derives from a French term, which in turn derives from the Latin "colere," which means to tend to the earth and grow.

We also see the word used in a scientific sense to describe groups of bacteria and fungi, we know of beneficial cultures of bacteria and fungi everywhere; in the soil promoting growth, in fermented foods like cheese, krauts, kimchi, and all manner of condiments.

I have a great belief that even though we lost our Forest Culture in the 1600's the bacteria and fungi necessary for forest growth is still here in the soil. I also feel that our sense of separation from Nature comes from a decrease in beneficial culture in our diets and immediate environment.

I approach a solution to this this from a few different angles. I try my best not to intentionally destroy beneficial bacteria....cleaning products in our home are all natural. We have a reed bed system for our waste water so I can visibly see how I'm doing....strong growth of reeds, iris', willows in the reed beds means I'm not killing the good stuff.......bleach kills good bacteria...so no bleach. Similar when I'm outside, no weedkillers, no poisons, same with my own body....no poisons....refined white sugar, dextrose and similar manufactured products are the equivalent of bleach in my mind, sure they do a great job, in that they taste great but oh wow the consequences..

Picture
Spirals in the Cleaver plant (Galium aparine)
I plant and care for lots of trees and plants, I'm playing a conscious part in the growth of the native culture of our local ecosystem.

I make and eat lots of culture i.e.fermented food products from veg grown locally. And my favourite way of restoring culture is to make herbal mead elixirs.....(local honey, local flowers, local yeast) a recipe for delightful culture.

I came across this blog when looking for ideas for meads; I make my meads in quite a similar way to this blog post: http://www.gallowaywildfoods.com/?page_id=1862

So, you are Nature, where ever you are, Nature is with you. You can feel more connected by becoming aware of your personal connections.....what products do you use, can you change any? Supporting the growth of one potted plant in your home changes your immediate ecosystem- you can practice conscious connection with this plant. Make fermented food- sourdough bread, sauerkraut, mead.....start looking around you. Even in the cities there are nooks and crannies of wonderful and vibrant culture.

Most importantly, have fun.....if you approach this from a guilt perspective, you've already changed your inner culture and guilt is not the approach you want to take........fun, love, exploration, adventure, gratitude and Love, did I say that one already.....Love, love yourself, love your world.....that's all you have to do. If you can't love yourself and consequently the world around you then decide to go on a fun filled adventure of change!
