Because sometimes you just have to........
We had great weather this year and a great group of people young and older. We celebrated our Celtic Culture together in style with warrior training during the day and good story telling and sharing during the night. And what a night it was....the stars came out to play and at one point I counted 5 shooting stars....amazing.....here's some pics of the weekend.
Father and Son demonstrate sword technique.
Tommy won this round. Both stand on the log with one hand behind the back and pull, push and twist the pole to dislodge their opponent off the log.
Time to throw some axes
And now for the spear
Extra points for sticking and knocking the head off!
Now that's how it's done
2 Axes, go on Jess.
Time to shoot some arrows- look at that focus
Niamh and Geraldine waiting their turn
Chief Weapons Instructor- Con
Many magic moments through the weekend.
Excellent throw.. we can rely on these warriors.
Axe throwing practice
Tom is still log champion.
Thanks Kris
And we start again.
Look at that form.
Always time for a chat at the fire.
A good chest shot.
Job done
Trying out that victory pose
It must run in the family.
Ard Druí Red John and Druí Doug
Sunday morning sword training.
Serious......time to bring home dinner.
Time to relax for the night
A night by the fire...simple and beautiful
The hearth of our gathering
Fireside warmth
Happy!
The Celtic Camp Lughamsa Games are primarily about celebration and fun. We practice warrior arts becasue we can and it's excellent craic. Each year there is a winner, sometimes chosen on a points scheme for most kills, hits and wounds but this year there was one person who excelled in all......

And The Winner is.........

Winner of the Lughnasa Games at Celtic Camp 2016 is modest Frank. With axe and spear he knocked the top log off so many times that he had to develop a new winners pose.
A big thank you to all who joined us for this great weekend. See you next year.
Grá
